For one night only, the Schaumburg Boomers of Illinois hope to become the first minor league baseball team to become zombies! The transformation will include everything from makeup and exclusive new uniforms to events, games and specialty food for the fans.
But the team needs your help to create their very own Field Of Screams, and have turned to the popular crowd-funding website Kickstarter to reach their goal. Apparently it isn’t cheap providing fans with a once-in-a-lifetime event like this, and the franchise wants to forgo corporate sponsorship dollars in order to maintain their “artistic vision” for the night!
This is no ordinary minor league baseball promotion and it goes way beyond decorating the stadium and passing out free candy, which is where your backing comes in. The Boomers are a small (nine employees), 100% family-owned (husband and wife Pat & Lindy Salvi) business that has a big idea it needs help funding. The Boomers will change their name for one night only to the Schaumburg Zombies and have gone so far as to create a logo, design uniforms and put some wild ideas together to do a night of dinner theater the likes of which have never before been seen in a baseball stadium.
The event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 7th, and only has a few weeks left to reach its five-thousand dollar goal. Contributors to the campaign will receive special incentives like tickets, t-shirts, game worn jerseys… even a chance to throw the first pitch!

UPDATE:
The Schaumburg Boomers have successfully raised $5,395 from fans on Kickstarter and will play as the Schaumburg Zombies on June 7!
