If there’s any family-friendly activity just waiting to take the country by storm, it’s zombie bowling! And last night fans of the walking dead officially kicked off the very first Zombie Bowling League at AMF Saratoga Lanes in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Boys and girls of all ages arrived in full zombie attire to participate in the evening’s festivities which included a fiercely competitive costume contest, lots of prizes and plenty of bowling! The extremely successful event was organized by Dean Fritsch, owner of Texas Toyz and co-founder of the Corpus Christi Zombie Walk.
I went to the AMF Saratoga Lanes last year in full zombie gear to promote and pass out flyers for the Corpus Christi Zombie Walk event,” Fritsch said. “It was the first time I had done anything like that and people were so excited, that they wanted to take pictures with me. Since then, I figured out the logistics of a Zombie Bowling League with the owner of AMF Saratoga and the idea has already spread to Houston like an infectious disease.
The league will continue to meet every Sunday night, and new teams are welcome to join at any time. But with more sponsors jumping on-board and new fans registering every day, spaces are sure to be limited. So if you’re in the area and want to join the Zombie Bowling League, be sure to stop by the official Facebook page for more information!
