NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: NERD A – Z

As you probably know, most universities don’t offer a degree in zombie research; at least not yet! But our official Advisory Board consists of scientists, authors, and academics committed to the real-life research of zombies and the living dead. Which is why we try to do everything that we can to educate, entertain, and encourage the next generation of zombie researchers.

So the Zombie Research Society is very honored to announce that author T.J. Resler chose to feature us in her wonderful upcoming children’s book Nerd A to Z: Your Reference to Literally Figuratively Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know, available this August from National Geographic Children’s Books. Seriously guys, this is one that you’ll want to add to your library!

T.J. Resler is perhaps best known for the brilliant series “How Things Work”, not to mention a number of National Geographic kids guides on subjects including genealogy and dog breeds. However, this upcoming book is a modern compendium of science, pop culture, and history; it’s a book for grammar gurus, science snobs, music geeks, and history buffs. In short, it’s a book for nerds. And we couldn’t be more happy to serve as the “Nerd of Note” for Zombies!

Want to know how likely it is that robots will take over the world? Or what Viking heroes were really like? Find out in this guide to all things smart and geeky–from ancient history to sci-fi technology, Marvel superheroes to edible insects, and beyond!

Move over dictionary. There’s a new reference book in town!

Inside, you’ll find browsable, info-packed blurbs that’ll give you the lowdown on everything from augmented reality to zydeco, with larger features that dive deep into fascinating topics like UFOs, pirates, artificial intelligence, and daring circus acts. You’ll find out what kind of nerd you are with superfun flowchart quizzes. And you’ll hear from the world’s most notable (and quotable) Nerds of Note from history and today.

The official release date is August 20th, but you can pre-order a copy right now via Amazon or directly from the National Geographic store itself. The section on zombies alone is worth the price; and not just because the Zombie Research Society is featured prominently inside. It’s also a great reference book for parents, teachers, homeschoolers, and your school library.

Every page is jam-packed with amazing information, illustrations, calculations, and geeky role-models meant to inspire children from age seven to ten. But it’s really for children of all ages, including adults! We had a wonderful time flipping through the pages, and we couldn’t be more excited to invite the next generation of little zombie researchers to our organization.

The Zombie Research Society is dedicated to the historic, cultural, and scientific study of the living dead. And we encourage every student to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. You may be last hope against the undead hordes. And study guides like Nerd A to Z: Your Reference to Literally Figuratively Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know from T.J. Resler could be the beginning of a wonderful relationship. So, check it out; learn what you can and report back soon, junior researchers. After all, what you don’t know could eat you!

  1. They think it’s only a matter of time, eh ? What of the location of the zrs location in benson? And what of there communication? And alas, finally have they considered every single way a zombie invasion could happen? Regardless of? What they don’t know could probably eat them ( or me) good thing they even started the zrs but then again how well does one really wish for safety in numbers?
