THE BATTERY: MOVIE REVIEW

One Paragraph Movie Review

Keeping them short but sweet, so you can get to the movie faster!

Want to see a movie about two guys trapped in a car with the zombie apocalypse going on outside?  Let me explain why you should!  While the entire movie doesn’t take place inside the car, a big chunk does, and hat’s off to director, writer, and star Jeremy Gardner for pulling it off (along with his co-star Adam Cronheim).  If World War Z is the viral apocalypse for the masses, The Battery (2012) is the antidote (illustrating the horde as the plodding, overwhelming monster that never stops).  It’s a buddy/road movie, with zombies. I love this movie like I loved Pontypool, but here is the caveat: if you want chock a block action, you might want to rent World War Z again. But if you want some smart sweet film with more than a heaping of claustrophobic suspense, get this one.

  1. I saw this movie last year sometime and thought it was brilliant! I really enjoyed the teeth brushing scene and the great pleasure they took from that simple act of brushing their teeth for the first time in who knows how long. It is those simple things that we will overlook and then miss so terribly once the apocalypse hits.

  2. This is the kind of zombie movie speaks to why I have been obsessed with the concept of a zombie since I was 10…it is what a human does or how s/he behaves in the face of a zombie apocalypse. Watched it months ago and I still catch myself pondering the pre/post story line and the nuances of the characters relationship…
