When society has finally collapsed, Hell is full and the dead walk the Earth, what will survivors use as currency; medicine, ammo, alcohol… sea shells? Believe it or not, this is actually a popular topic that every serious prepper has considered at one time or another. Even our affiliates at DeadMen Talking discussed the subject during a recent podcast.
So why not consider Zombucks: Currency of the Apocalypse™ because there’s no need to worry about currency devaluation, inflation or diversifying your portfolio when you’re trying to survive the zombie apocalypse!
This exclusive series from Provident Metals will be produced at the Provident Mint and will honor 10 separate historical figures and coin designs, by zombifying them. A new design will be unveiled every 3 months and each release will have a limited mintage.
These collectable coins are currently produced in one ounce of pure silver and copper. And sadly, they’re probably worth more than our current Federal Reserve notes today! But will any of that truly matter when lawless bands of cannibals are roving the countryside?
Well, that’s up to you to decide! So check out the video embedded below and the official Zombucks website online for more information including additional details, photos and prices. And hopefully you won’t have to barter these coins for a can of beans one day.
I would use extra toilet paper that I stockpile
salt is actually one of the oldest currencies in the world
I cannot eat silver, nor can I determine what is real silver. Ammo is too precious and delicate to trade willy-nilly and food traded to you could be poisoned. I would choose to trade in salt, or salt dollars if my group can establish a government.
Salt dollars? I have to admit that’s one I’ve never heard of. Interesting concept though!
salt is actually one of the oldest currencies in the world
Well, sure… but I’ve still never heard of “salt dollars.” I assume he’s suggesting a new currency backed by salt reserves as opposed to gold or silver. Which, as I said, is an interesting concept that I’ve simply never heard of.
yeah, pretty sure they weren’t called salt “dollars”
What would you suggest I name them?
salt dollars is a great name for them, it’s original
Luke is correct in saying that ‘salt dollars’ are more the concept than the official name. Any suggestions for a salt certificate and denominations (I’m thinking metric weight right now because it’s very precise) are welcome. Maybe, when the zombie uprising occurs, your group and my group will meet and form a commonwealth?
How about calling them “Salty Dogs”?
The Romans used salt before they switched to gold, that’s what gave me the idea.
