In The Flesh is a brand new zombie program that recently premiered in the United Kingdom to some pretty rave reviews. The three part series originally aired on BBC Three as a weekly television program, but is finally set to debut next month on BBC America as part of a special three night event!
After his suicide four years ago, his friends and family thought they’d never see Kieren again. But shortly after his funeral, thousands rose from the dead; and after months of rehabilitation and medication, the zombies — now known as PDS (Partially Deceased Syndrome) sufferers — are gradually being returned to their homes.
The series takes a fresh look at the zombie genre and provides a fairly heavy-handed lesson in tolerance and bigotry as it focuses on previously infected individuals while they attempt to rehabilitate themselves back into society.
In The Flesh will premiere early next month on BBC America beginning on Thursday, June 6th. Just check your local listings for a complete schedule. And be sure to visit the official website online for even more information including exclusive interviews, videos and photos!
This was shown on one of the BBC channels earlier this year in the UK. Not your standard zombie story, but it shows a fabulous demonstration of mob mentality to those that are thought as ‘different’. It is beautifully done and there are some fabulous actors in it. It does, however, have a very dark British sense of humour, and I don’t know how well it will be received by other countries. I really hope the US enjoys it as much as we did in the UK….I suggest doing what I done though – record all 3 episodes and watch them back to back – makes for a great evenings viewing 🙂
