The zombie epic World War Z hits theaters next month, and so far the film has generated buzz mostly for its widespread script and production problems.
Mike Fleming Jr. of Deadline.com recently screened the picture, observing that not since the colossal flops of John Carter and Battleship has a big-budget movie received more advance negative press for its production woes. But after the credits ran at the end of the screening, it turns out Fleming actually liked it:
“I’m no reviewer, but I can honestly say that WWZ is better than good; try a rocking, smart, pulse-pounding big-scale pandemic with raging zombies, palpable tension, and the kind of hero star turn Pitt hasn’t performed in a long time.”
Fleming is a well respected movie industry journalist, so his opinion does carry some weight. Only time will tell if zombie fans around the world agree with his assessment.
I’m sorry as soon as I saw who was in it I knew that there would be little resemblance to the book and the trailers have proven it. What we have here is the usual Hollywood gimmick of using a well know name to get people in, the book was never what this was going to be it is all about stunts, excitement and CGI.
This is horrible all of us who read the book have waited years for the battle of Yonkers only to find out from the author that its most likely not even gonna be in there its ridiculous read the book its better
I to have a sinking feeling, the book was great, but am willing to at least watch it. you cant judge a film before you see it.
It more than likely wont be as good as the book but what film ever is? It dosnt them from being good films. Hopefully it will be great.
If they didn’t want us to pre judge the movie then they would have called it something else. They called it World War Z hoping to ensure a positive impression by fans. It backfired on them.
