One of Canada’s premier martial arts schools has begun to incorporate the walking dead into their popular schedule of classes! Instructors at The Forge in Southern Alberta recently developed “Fight the Bite: A Zombie Survival Workshop” to help train and prepare their students for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
The end is nigh! In the news we’re hearing increasing accounts of “cannibals” and “bath salt” crazies. Are these just deranged people who happen to snap their crayons and take their collective griefs out on those around them? No! This is “The Man” using the media to try to explain away what we already know! The zombie apocalypse is upon us! The dead walk! We know this, now we want to make you aware and prepared!
With a focus on Western Martial Arts, the class began sometime late last year and features nearly six hours of instruction including “Urban Survival Skills,” “Striking & Grappling” and “Blade Combat.” Not to mention the opportunity to interact and defend yourself against some actual zombies!
Originally conceived as a simple self-defense course for ladies, the idea to add the undead immediately helped broaden the appeal to a larger segment of the population. And the class has become a hit with locals looking to learn real-world survival skills.
