The Moscow Police Department and Volunteer Fire Department teamed up with emergency responders late last week to hold a “Zombie UFO Crash Disaster.” In Russia, the zombie apocalypse prepares for you!
Sorry, that was a little Yakov Smirnoff humor there. And this is actually Moscow, Idaho… not Russia. Besides, most of you are probably too young to remember such an influential titan of comedy anyway. But I digress.
Shortly after 9:00 on Saturday morning, a “Zombie UFO Crash” occurred at Moscow High School, leaving about 40 volunteer casualties in need of medical help. Of course, it was all part of a drill for Latah County’s emergency responders.
“We wanted to lighten things up, make it silly,” said Moscow Volunteer Fire Department Division Chief Dave Reynolds. “And we knew that everyone knew that Zombies weren’t real so we figured that was a pretty safe thing to put out there.”
Yeah, that’s what you want to hear from your emergency responders. “Hey, lets just get silly with it!” But seriously, the UFO and zombie theme took a backseat to the actual disaster training. And the drill itself helped prepare emergency responders for a real mass casualty event.
The crack news team at KLEW in Idaho filed the original report, and you can read the entire article online right here. But for even more details, and a look at the actual “Zombie UFO Crash Disaster” itself, we’ve embedded the complete video for you below. Enjoy!
maybe it was a ufo with a zombie virus that came from space anyways they wouldn’t be laughing if something like happened in real-life
If they really were talking about zombies, they definitely wouldn’t respond to that emergency very well. Any self-respecting zombie survivalist knows that zombies can’t operate UFOs.
I just assumed that the aliens flying the UFO were attacked by zombies… which caused the crash. Quite a creative little back-story for an emergency drill!
