PLEASE STOP REMAKING ‘DAY OF THE DEAD’

Jimmy Donnellan, from Cultured Vultures, has guest-written for ZRS in the past (read his scorching review of The Burning Dead HERE), and aims his sights at Day of the Dead.  Not Romero’s DotD, but its many reincarnations…

“One of the worst remakes ever, and one of the worst films I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through, Steve Milner’s 2008 remake of Day of the Dead should have convinced everyone that sometimes the classics are best left alone.

Featuring zombies flipping around like ninja spiders, zombies driving cars, and a vegetarian zombie with a crush on the girl out of American Beauty, it was as close to a cinematic travesty as you could get. Not content with their first try, George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead is being remade. Again.”

Everytime is see “Day Of The Dead” with 2008 after the title my heart sinks. So it would be a pointless remake of a remake. Why not make “Empire Of the Dead”. I’m sure Marvel have made enough money with all those Superhero movies to sink some cash into a zombie/vampire movie by Mr Romero.
