Zombie fans have become used to heavy-handed commentary, political themes, and social criticism. But sometimes it’s okay for zombie movies to be mindless entertainment; to revel in the goofy and ridiculous. That’s why we’re more than happy to share the brand new trailer for Zombie Tidal Wave from producer Ian Ziering and Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante.
Obviously the film hasn’t been released yet, so we really can’t say what to expect. Maybe they will touch on themes like global warming, overfishing, critical depensation, or environmental encroachment; but we seriously doubt it. In fact, most of us really, really hope that they don’t!
A brief respite from the tedious horrors of the world would be a welcome treat from the team that brought us such modern-day schlock like Sharknado, Sharknado 2: The Second One, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, and… well, you get the idea. Unfortunately, SyFy Wire isn’t really giving us that much to go on other than this tiny, little bit of promotion via their official website.
Producer/star Ian Ziering reunites with his Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante to bring you …
Zombie Tidal Wave.
And that’s it. The title is the pitch. Like Snakes on a Plane. Ya know? There ain’t no 90210 in the ocean, kids.
Watch the trailer below … or above … or everywhere.
So, check out the official trailer we’ve embedded below. Because that’s it, that’s all we have; Zombie Tidal Wave – in all of it’s goofy, ridiculous glory! You’ve got zombies, you’ve got Ian Ziering, you’ve got Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante. What more could you want?
Just to be clear; we haven’t received an advanced screener of this film, and we don’t know anything about it other than what we’ve gathered from the trailer embedded down below. So, proceed at your own risk! It could be awful, it could be great, or it could be exactly what you’d expect from the Sharknado crew; really dumb and stupid, but incredibly entertaining schlock.
Zombie Tidal Wave will premiere on the SYFY channel Saturday, August 17th at 9pm EST as part of a television marathon, lovingly referred to as the Off the Deep End Weekend, running Friday, August 17th and Saturday, August 18th. So go check it out, because we always say; what you don’t know could eat you… even incredibly improbable tidal waves full of zombies!
