Fans of the original Resident Evil may get a kick out of this new online series from the fine folks at Incognito Cinema Warriors XP. The comedy team has taken a slight detour from their usual film commentary to focus some attention on the recent HD Remaster, and the results are absolutely hilarious! This is truly a harmonic convergence as the definitive zombie survival video game meets Mystery Science Theater 3000.
The guys behind ICWXP aren’t just jumping on the bandwagon either; they’ve been true enthusiasts of the undead from the get-go! Besides skewering recent cinematic sludge like Resident Evil: Retribution, the entire premise of their hugely popular series began in 2008 with the inevitable zombie apocalypse. And we’ve been fans ever since!
When ideas where being spitballed for reasons why anyone would watch bad films, the first one that came to mind was of course the zom-pocalypse (an idea that’s gotten a little too popular since…).
The original premise of ICWXP was much darker and more in line with Tales of the Crypt, centering on two bored guys and a robot / zombie cyborg stuck in an old theater with nothing better to do than watch crappy movies, waiting out the zom-pocalyps. Obviously, that’s not exactly how the show turned out, but that was its starting point.
We’ve embedded the third and funniest video in the series below, but if you’d like to watch them all from the beginning just click here. In fact, the guys are still hard at work and need your support to continue riffing on Resident Evil. So be sure to check it out online for free via their official YouTube Channel. And stop by the Incognito Cinema Warriors XP website and Facebook page for additional information including videos, DVDs and more!
