Today marks the official release date for “Dead Island: Riptide”, the highly anticipated sequel to Deep Silver’s hugely popular zombie video game! Originally announced in June of last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting this followup to one of the most successful zombie-themed survival games in recent memory.
Leading up to the release, gamers were treated to a brand new music video from rapper Josef “J7” Lord (better known to players as the in-game character Sam B.) Not to mention a minor controversy surrounding a “strictly limited” European version of the game known as the “Zombie Bait Edition” which featured a collectible bust of a bloody, armless, decapitated girl in a bikini. Yeah… seriously!
Fans in the rest of the world now have their option of the regular edition, special edition… or Rigor Mortis Edition, which includes a number of extras including a zombie hula girl figurine, magnetic zombie bottle opener and branded bungalow key.
