The People Under the Stairs (1991)
PLAY***
Master of horror Wes Craven brings an urban twist to the classic fairy tale in the story of Fool, a 13-year-old lad who succumbs to ghetto pressures to steal from a local house. Fool’s instant karma comes in the gruesome form of the house’s residents — an insane, deformed family of murderers. The perils of latchkey kids and warnings about absentee parents are the subtle social subtext as Fool and other victims try to escape the deadly home.
Yep– there are flesh-eating zombies in that house.  A whole mess of ’em in one house!

PLAY***
Behind a young family’s home in Maine is a terrible secret that holds the power of life after death. When tragedy strikes, the threat of that power soon becomes undeniable.

Italian horror maestro Mario Bava (Black Sunday) provides lots of creepy atmosphere for this cult chiller, which became a major influence for later science fiction and horror films. Barry Sullivan leads the European cast as Capt. Markary, commander of a space rescue mission whose members fall prey (one by one) to zombie-fying possession by alien entities. The film was also released as Demon Planet, Planet of Blood and Terrore Nello Spazio.

Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead (2006)
I was wondering when this Troma chick(en) flick would make it to Netflix.  The 4 (****) star rating above is for its sheer gross-out factor (on or beyond the level of Peter Jackson’s  “Dead Alive” — but with a different kind of genius at the helm (Lloyd Kaufman — who created Troma films.  Read his complete biography here).

  1. Netflix sucks

  2. Hi,

I was wondering why most of these Zombie movies aren’t available on Netflix.

    Thx,
    K

    • Movies come and go, and come back again on Netflix all the time (kind of like the undead). I have purposely kept them on the list so that the list continues to grow into a list of every zombie movie out there, with descriptions, box art and ratings. But over the years, it has grown into a list of zombie movies NOT on Netflix. I am preparing a list of only active movies. Stay tuned.

  3. The Zombie flick im writing will be the best but the comment im writing is on a movie called Stakeland its a pretty cool movie
