WORLD WAR Z TO START FILMING

Hollywood insider Nikki Finke is reporting that the film adaptation of Max Brooks’ bestselling zombie novel World War Z will begin production this month!

After years of development hell as several different writers, directors and scripts came on board and then dropped off, Paramount has finally partnered with several other financiers to help cover the estimated $125 million budget.  This makes World War Z the most expensive and arguably most anticipated zombie movie of all time.

If all goes as planned expect a summer 2012 release.

  1. Can’t wait for it to hit theatres!!! I love Max Brooks’ books, now they made a movie of one of them. SO excited.

  2. i have just applied for being an extra for it 🙂 they are shooting in Glasgow, Scotland in august 🙂

    • Way cool…some of my favorite Zombie movies were made in GB. I entered the AMC Walking Dead contest every week , no luck. Good luck in getting the job.

  3. Don’t hold your breath. From the news I’ve seen, it has nothing to do with the book.

  4. Awesome! We’ll be able to watch a good zombie flick before the world blows up in December! lol

  5. This is one of those situations that has been so hyped-up, they have to make an awesome movie or face certain ridicule and disdain from, like, every zombie fan in the known world. I wish them good fortune in all aspects of the project. It’d be great if they ended up making an ultra-cool zombie movie. With that kind of budget, it’s a distinct possibility.

Thanks for the update. Since I read World War Z (reading it for the second time now), I’ve been passively keeping up with it. I appreciate your efforts.

    Have a good one.
