TINY BUGS CONTROL YOUR MIND!

A study published in Scientific America suggests that bacteria in your body may be treating your brain like a puppet, secretly pulling the strings and calling the shots.

Young lab mice that had their naturally occurring stomach bacteria removed displayed not only different behavior than their unaltered counterparts, but also different brain development over time.  And in humans, it turns out we’re actually made up of more bacteria than human cells.

“Scientists have long recognized that the bacterial cells inhabiting our skin and gut outnumber human cells by ten-to-one.  Indeed, Princeton University scientist Bonnie Bassler compared the approximately 30,000 human genes found in the average human to the more than 3 million bacterial genes inhabiting us, concluding that we are at most one percent human.”

Skeptics point to the notion that a zombie sickness can take control of the human brain as unlikely at best, but this new study is just the next in a mountain of evidence that suggests it’s not only possible but just a matter of time.

  1. There is a fungus the grows in the heads of ants in that forces the ant to move to a location that is favorable for the fungas to grow. I want to say it’s in South America.
