MOTHER’S DAY WITH ZOMBIE A-GO-GO

It’s purely a coincidence that Mother’s Day is celebrated during Zombie Awareness Month. But if anyone will worry about you during the inevitable zombie apocalypse, it’s your mom! So we encourage you all to take the time to appreciate and thank her this weekend, if possible.

Of course, if your mother ever becomes infected… well, that’s not your mommy anymore! We know that even the possibility of such a thing can be hard to accept; which is exactly why our founder-emeritus Matt Mogk wrote the children’s book “That’s Not Your Mommy Anymore“.

And this year, our friends at Zombie A-Go-Go have put those wise words to music. The result is a perfect, harmonic convergence of sage advice and Swedish zombie rock! Time to settle in, suck it up, and prepare yourselves for the undead sounds of their latest track “Mommy“.

In the Mid-eighties , Sweden, who was not feeling the cold war but still wanted to be part of it, started it’s own superhuman project. It all started out nice and dandy, as things usually do in Sweden, but it soon went south, as things also usually do in Sweden.

After a promising beginning, the project failed miserably when the test subjects where introduced to methamphetamines and cheap beer. As a result, these poor test subjects became aggressive, drug dependent, sexually deviant undead. And thus this being the eighties, they tried to shut it down, in secrecy, as was the style of the time.

But the then young, promising army research doctor, Doctor Valdis, caught wind of the project and acquired the test objects. Dr. Valdis took the, now deviant, junkies sorry excuses for zombies, to instigate a new era of terror, violence and the annihilation of the entire human race

Go ahead and take a listen; we’ve embedded the song below for your convenience. But you can also buy “Mommy” right now online via Google Play. It’s a wonderfully dirty, low-fi, punk rock tribute to the ZRS and Matt Mogk’s cautionary tale “That’s Not Your Mommy Anymore”.

Now if that doesn’t sound like the perfect soundtrack for your Mother’s Day celebration, we don’t know what does! And if you’d like to hear even more from Zombie-A-Go-Go just swing by their official Facebook page, check ’em out on SoundCloud, or listen to their latest album online at Spotify. You can also order Matt Mogk’s book “That’s Not Your Mommy Anymore” right now via Amazon; it’s the perfect gift for mothers, zombie fans, and children everywhere!
