Okay, a lot of people have been asking me for more videos showing how you can easily survive a situation that is less than optimal. So in this new episode of The Zombie Files, I’ll demonstrate that almost anyone can collect pure drinking water by building a solar still.
This is a relatively small and simple setup that allows you to gather water through natural distillation. Basically, you are covering a hole in the ground using a plastic sheet of some type with a container below to catch the water. As the air inside the hole heats up, water molecules begin to form due to condensation. Once there is a saturation of water on the sheet, it simply runs down into the container… and that is where you will get your water!
In the video below you will see the basic set up, materials, and some tricks in order to help you throughout the process. However, I want to stress that this is not really something that you should be using as a main source of water; but only a backup or emergency source.
This is just a short eight-minute video, but it’s incredibly informative! Of course, if you have any problems setting up a solar still, need a few hints, or simply have a suggestion of your own… just give me shout out in the comments below, and I’ll get back to you ASAP!
The Zombie Files also has a brand new Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Instagram account. So if you can’t reach me via the Zombie Research Society, then just try hitting me up on those pages! I look forward to reading all of your comments and hearing from you!
And as always; remember… what you don’t know can eat you!
