The cast of the 1985 zombie classic The Return of the Living Dead will reunite next month for a special appearance at the 11th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas, Texas! Horror fan favorites Jewell Shepard, Beverly Randolph, and Thom Matthews will join the Tarman himself, Allan Trautman, at “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention” from March 29th to April 1st for selfies and autographs throughout the entire weekend.
Writer and director Dan O’Bannon practically redefined the zombie genre when he collaborated with John Russo to create what is often considered the very first zombedy. And now, more than thirty years later, the original cast of The Return of the Living Dead will gather together with fans to celebrate at this year’s Texas Frightmare Weekend.
Texas Frightmare Weekend is presented in association with FANGORIA Magazine. The event takes place annually in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. True to its motto, “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention”, our goal is to provide fans with an unrivaled experience by celebrating all aspects of genre films. Texas Frightmare Weekend hosts celebrity appearances, autograph signings, screenings, exclusive parties and horror memorabilia vendors from all over the country.
Also appearing at the event are George Romero and Howard Sherman, who originally portrayed “Bub” in one of the ultimate zombie horror classics; Day Of The Dead. As we previously reported; the dynamic duo will offer attendees a very rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their picture taken with Romero and Sherman, in full zombie makeup, for one last time before the character is retired forever.
With more special events and celebrity guests than we can even begin to list here, the Texas Frightmare Weekend is one convention that zombie and horror fans won’t want to miss.
