MICHAEL ROOKER IN “THE DRIVING DEAD”

Rooker3Micahel Rooker of The Walking Dead fame, and more recently Guardians of the Galaxy is starring in a new web series called The Driving Dead.

The Driving Dead will debut with an extended-length pilot episode on August 25, 2014.  Rooker fans will be able to view the pilot and subsequent installments online, exclusively at www.TheDrivingDeadSeries.com.

From the press release:

The Driving Dead follows the survival stories of a group of road travelers as they face harrowing encounters in a post-apocalyptic world.  Rooker, renowned for his roles in Marvel’s latest, “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and AMC’s, “The Walking Dead” has signed on to appear in the first four episodes.

The Driving Dead is a very unique series geared to encourage safe driving practices.  Rooker spoke to the Chicago Sun Times about the series:

It’s a new campaign based on the whole zombie craze. It’s called “The Driving Dead” and will launch very soon. It’s totally different. There are going to be several pieces within the piece to try to get the message of safety out to young people. It’s about wearing your safety belt. Personally, I’ve never had a safety belt issue. I’ve always fancied myself a NASCAR fan. So anytime I get in a car, I put the safety belt on and even cinch it up. It’s my way of pretending I’m in a race.

From the press release:

When I heard about The Driving Dead, I thought that the concept was really cool.  In this series, we are able to share some
really important messages in a way that is unlike anything that has been done before.

The Driving Dead series was created by Arthur Agency out of Carbondale, Ill.  Leading up to the August 25 launch, fans can connect with The Driving Dead on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for up-to-date news and a behind-the-scenes look at the series.
