WASHBURN UNIVERSITY ZOMBIE DEBATE

Local students at Washburn University gathered last week to decide which of their professors were best suited to survive the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Faculty members were gathered from a number of different departments including Sociology, Nursing and Biology to plead their case as participants enjoyed zombie trivia, snacks and prizes!

The election was based on three rounds of voting, and ballots were cast on criteria such as Personality, Survival Content and Relation to Discipline. Consideration was also paid to each candidates’ tolerance for violence, death, survival skills and social roles.

Maybe it’s something you have thought about, maybe you haven’t. If a zombie apocalypse were to wipe out half of the population; who would you choose to be the the new leader? That was one of those questions posed to faculty who took part in the zombie apocalypse debate at Washburn University [Wednesday] night.

The competition was tracked by a bracket-style approach. Participants engaged in discussions on how well they were equipped based on their particular areas of expertise. The event also included zombie trivia from movies and television shows and was free to the public.
