ZOMBIE BEER: BREWED WITH SMOKED BRAINS!

In honor of the upcoming season finale of The Walking Dead, a local Philadelphia brewery will be serving a very special zombie-themed beer featuring real smoked brains! Brewed and presented by Justin Low and Sasha Certo-Ware of Dock Street Brewing Co. the new offering is an American Pale Stout (7.2% ABV) that promises a tasty mix of wheat, oats, flaked barley, organic cranberry… and smoked goat brains.

Appropriately named the Dock Street Walker, the beer itself was brewed specifically as a tribute to the hugely popular AMC television series and will be unveiled at a very special event on March, 30th in West Philly during a screening of the season finale featuring live acoustic funk, goblets and growlers.

Dock Street Walker (7.2% ABV) is an American Pale Stout, brewed with substantial amounts of malted wheat, oats, and flaked barley for a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Fuggle hops provide delicate, earthy notes, while the cranberries create a sinister, bloody hue, and a slight tartness. The pre-sparge-brain-addition provides this beer with intriguing, subtle smoke notes. In true walker fashion, don’t be surprised if its head doesn’t hang around forever.

Being a fan of craft beer myself, and really hoppy IPA in particular, I’m probably more curious about the fruity flavors than the smoked goat brains. An American stout featuring the unusual combination of sour cranberry tart and subtle smoky aromas is definitely intriguing. So if any of our readers in the Philadelphia area have the opportunity to taste this brand new brew, please leave your impressions in the comments below!

As Dock Street Brewery claims; only two things in life are certain: Craft Beer and Zombies! So don’t miss out on this great harmonic convergence; just visit the official website to read the official press release and be sure to check out Dock Street Brewery online at Facebook and Twitter for even more information on this unusual and exclusive new zombie beer.

  1. Would’ve been nice w/o brains of any kind LOL. Think I’ll pass. Just got some trooper ale with iron maiden’s mascot Eddie on it. Thats a “piece of mind” mind I’ll be happy to try.

    • Trooper sounds like something I’d definitely enjoy! A traditional English Ale is much more appealing than some of these experimental craft beers… and at 4.7% it’s certainly more drinkable. But I’m still very curious to try the Dock Street Walker one day. It’s just too odd to pass up the opportunity!
