LOS ANGELES POLICE PRODUCE A ZOMBIE PSA!

To help curb the vicious crimes of petty theft and burglary plaguing the Los Angeles area, Captain Jeffrey Bert and his fearless team at the Northeast Community Police Station recently released this awesome seven minute zombie PSA for local residents! Featuring the makeup effects and screenwriting talents of his fellow officers, the video was produced largely by volunteers and has already begun to go viral.

Apparently titled Invasion of the Zombie Bandits; the short film presents a horde of iPad-thieving, baby-stealing undead… not to mention a sweet soundtrack straight out of the seventies! Granted, the actual video is only about five minutes. But you’ll definitely want to stick around for the credits featuring a dancing zombie!

I’m Captain Jeff Bert from the Los Angeles Police Department. Year to date, twenty-one thousand vehicles have been burglarized in the city of Los Angeles. That’s about four hundred cars a week. Whatever you call ’em; people, zombies, bad guys, creeps, criminals… breaking into your cars, stealing your stuff. It happens over four hundred times a week, and we’re here to stop it. But the best thing we can do to stop it, is have your active participation.

You know, if you just lock your car you reduce your chances by about thirty percent of having people break into your car. And then, if you hide your valuables; your purses, your iPods, your cell phones, any loose change. If you’re a pirate, your bag of jewels. Anything you can do. Tuck that stuff away. You’re gonna’ reduce your chances of being a victim. Lock your stuff, hide your stuff and you’re gonna’ keep your stuff.

That’s not bad advice, especially for the holiday season. So be wary of roving zombie bandits this Christmas, and keep your valuables out of sight and your vehicles locked!

We’ve embedded the entire video below for you, so take a look when you get a chance! And feel free to stop by the website of the LAPD’s Northeast Community Police Station and visit their official Facebook page online for even more helpful safety tips.
