TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA ZOMBIES?

While the upcoming big-budget reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set for a theatrical release sometime next year; original comic book creator Kevin Eastman has plans to re-release his own horror inspired series this Halloween season. The co-creator of the hugely popular comic book series is currently working with IDW Publishing to distribute his 1992 miniseries Zombie War to comic book stores next month!

IDW Publishing is thrilled to announce the publication of ZOMBIE WAR! When the denizens of Earth’s military cemeteries begin to rise from the dead, who will stop them? Over ZOMBIE WAR’s two giant-sized issues, Jina, a tough-as-nails fighter pilot sets about uncovering what reanimated these heavily armed monsters and more importantly, what will stop them!

Written nearly twenty years ago, Zombie Wars has actually been published a number of times… perhaps most recently in a collection of short stories called Ronin Bebop. However with this new re-release, Eric Talbot’s original black and white artwork will be colorized for the first time by current TMNT series colorist Ronda Pattison!

To learn more about the upcoming release you can read the official press release online at IDW Publishing. There’s also a brilliant new interview with Kevin Eastman courtesy of Comic Book Resources including a ton of great behind-the-scenes information on the creation and publication of the original comic book and the upcoming colorization and re-release scheduled for next month. Check it out!
