  1. Sexy Back by Justin Timberake because everyone knows that Zombies are dead sexy.

  2. Rob Zombie – Living Dead Girl, of course

  3. Don’t stop me now by Queen, in my local pub, while killing zeds with friends using pool cues.

  4. “Anthem of the Angels” by Breaking Benjamin.
The song sets the scene perfectly. I picture it as such…the scene opens into a dark attic, turned into a living space at one time with a few ceiling windows. The windows cracked with age. We hear the pitter patter of rain on the window. The weather outside does not allow enough light into the room to see well. What we do see is a candle flickering in the corner, illuminating a worn out mattress on the floor. A young woman aged by the events of what is now called surviving. Her skin losing its’ color. Her once rosy lips now pale and dry. Darkness surrounds her eyes as time passes. Her breathing becomes short gasps for life. Next to her slumped over in agony, the shell of a man sits, watching her life slip away from him. He thinks to himself ‘One bite!’ He cries, his tears sting as they streak down his cheeks. His life, his passion for living, fading away with each passing moment. ‘How did it come to this? How did I f@#k up?’ He looks into her eyes as they begin to glaze over. He tries to comfort her in her last moments. He leans in close to her and whispers ‘I’ll love you always.’ He lifts her up and holds her close to him. As he does so, she exhales her last breathe, her body cold and gray. He sits contemplating, praying for some guidance. His prayer never heard. He lays her down on the mattress and stares at her lifeless body. An hour passes and he reaches for her hand to hold and feels a twitch. Her body jerks. Her eye lids slowly open. Through his tears he sees her one last time. We hear a single shot ring out as the scene pans to the exterior of the attic. In the streets, nothing but the dead roam.

  5. Kill everybody- skrillex. Keep you mind alert, and a focused attitude at the task at hand.

  6. My idea of the worst-case audio scenario for the zombie apocalypse would be getting all geared up, charging out into a horde of Zack with my machete winking in the sun and twin shotguns strapped to my back, and to have that ridiculous barking dogs version of Jingle Bells playing in the background. Total…mood…killer.

  7. best song – Angels Holocaust / by Iced Earth
worst song – This Land Is Your Land / by Woody Guthrie

  8. The worst song I think would be “I ran so far away” by Flock of Seagulls, Because that is what I would be doing, except no place would be far enough since Zombies would be every where.

The best song I think would be, ” I will Survive” By Gloria Gaynor. Since that is what I plan on being. A survivor.

  9. I think a great song for the apocalypse would be “Brain Stew” by Green Day!!

  10. Best: Maneater by Hall & Oates
Worst: Maneater because it’s a Hall & Oates song.

  11. Jonathan Coulton’s song “re: Your Brains” would be my choice. In a desperate situation, you need to remember the humor to help you keep a firm grasp on your humanity (and sanity).

  12. Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold

A song like this could go either way… is becoming a zombie turning into the beast, or is it remaining alive?

Sometimes I don’t know why we’d rather live than die,
We look up towards the sky for answers to our lives.
We may get some solutions but most just pass us by,
Don’t want your absolution cause I can’t make it right.
I’ll make a beast out of myself, gets rid of all the pain of being a man.

I can see this verse during a scene where the living had to do something particularly awful, but necessary, like wiping out a horde of child zombies in a school. Or, maybe when one group runs into another, larger group that appears on the surface to be trustworthy, but really they’re a bunch of freakin’ psychos.

  13. Louie Armstrong–What a Wonderful World. Very versatile. It could be used ironically–most of those “wonderful” things being gone, but would match up well with slow-motion horde slaughtering. It could be used literally–it’s a wonderful world, so I’m gonna do what I can to stay alive and un-undead, and likely try to get rid of my fair share of the zombies ruining it. Or, it could be used as hope for the future–those who remember the world pre-apocalypse holding onto hope that they’ll see it again, and those that may not have memories of that world have a nice description of what would be in store for them if they can weather the storm.

  14. One. Eight. Zero (Life Cried Remix) by Grendel. Definitely my choice for best on the soundtrack for the Zombie Apocalypse. It always get’s me all pumped up to take out the undead!

  15. I don’t know if it counts, but “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” By Eric Idle, featured in Monty Python’s Life of Brian. Because life’s a laugh and death’s a joke!

  16. Last Stop: This Town by the Eels. “You’re dead but the world keeps spinnin…”

  17. Have to be Bodies by Drowning Pool as they hit the floor from my machete !

  18. Time – Hans Zimmer

I can totally picture this piece over a battle scene…something like World War Z’s Yonkers…would be so awesome.

  19. I’m thinking best song Lou Reed – Perfect Day. Cuz it just keeps you hangin on πŸ™‚

Also, I already have a couple of Scott’s books, Z.E.O and Zen of Zombie. Great stuff πŸ™‚

  20. Zombie Stomp from Ozzy

  21. Sly & The Family Stone’s “Everyday People” would also make for a good zombie-killing time.

  22. “Burnin’ Streets” by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros. Or, if you’re feeling sentimental, Peggy Lee’s “Is That All Thre Is.”

  23. Two choices, an obvious one would be ‘Zombies’ by Designer Drugs.
One for the mood is ‘Can I play with Madness’ by Iron Maiden.

  24. Knights of cydonia by muse, or madworld. When you’re doing nothing but fighting the undead, you need to keep your humanity for afterwards, so anything metal will make you just feel like you’re out there to destroy everything, but what you’re really doing is trying to keep yourself and others safe. The fight is hard but life afterwards is harder.

And the a-trak remix of heads will roll. That beat can get you in a good mood in any situation πŸ™‚

  25. Heads Will Roll by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

  26. I’m Alive by Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews. πŸ™‚

  27. For Zen of Zombie…Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.

  28. The song from Donnie Darko “Mad World” by Ronald Orzabal. It’s a song of Hopelessness.

  29. For Zombie, Ohio…John Mellencamp – Crumbling Down.

  30. Welcome to the Jungle by Guns & Roses because I’m sure when the zombie apocalypse happens it’s going to be a jungle out there.

  31. I like for whom the bell tolls-Metallica. From beginning of zombieland.

But I also envision a zombie movie set in the medieval times where the song Blood of Kings by manowar play.

  32. White Zombie – More Human Than Human

  33. Marilyn Manson – The Beautiful People

  34. “Supper’s Ready” by Genesis. Does it really need an explanation? Listen to it and you tell me. πŸ˜‰

  35. “Master of Puppets” by Metallica. The instrumental portion is just soothing enough to help you sleep once you find a safehouse. The rest of the song is a pure driving force to keep you moving and fighting for your life.

  36. Best sound i think is DevilDriver – These fighting words. Its got zombie killing rage all over it, fast paced and the spoken opening line just sets it up “Pleading your case while taking the eternal high ground” every time i listen to it i imagine head shots and splattering undead heads.

  37. Best song for the zombie apocalypse is without a doubt “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” because thats exactly what would be happening plus it gets you pumped up haha. The worst I would have to say would be “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” because let’s face it, no matter how prepared you are for the apocalypse, no one is really going to be feeling fine at that moment. At least that’s my opinion, guess we will have to wait and see!

  38. Whatever – Godsmack (Album: Godsmack [Self-Title])

  39. God’s Away on Business by Tom Waits

  40. Jimmy Buffet’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise” in “Zombieland 2” – forget looking for Twinkies, give me a cheeseburger (w/ bacon – everything goes better w/ bacon, including the zombie-pocalypse).

  41. It’s the end of the world as we know it by R.E.M. – that would be the song going through my head

  42. No doubt….it must be THIS song:

PINK FLUFFY UNICORNS DANCING ON RAINBOWS
